I love people. I love the power that exists from the palpable energy of a room unified toward a cause, team, or recognition of something greater than US. I have spent the last two years of my life dreaming about a space where this feeling may exist… a place where people can go to remember that there is so much more that unites us than divides us. A place where we can have conversation that helps us grow and finish the job of raising ourselves.

I have to admit that this has become a bit of an obsession. As a stay-at-home-mom of two boys, and a wife, sister, daughter, and friend, I want to be surrounded in a community that supports connection, acceptance and the idea that we are always better when we focus on the unifying factors of life- and not criticism of the divisive ones. I want this for YOU, too! So many of us wonder if we are alone in daily struggles and look for people to share our joy with. I want this to be that space.

So…. This. Is. It. This is The United State of US. My goal for this site is to explore issues that I saw in my classroom, as a teacher, and in families, when I was a Principal. My goal is to provide honest content that allows us to think and grow in safe spaces, and most of all, to feel surrounded in community while we do it. My goal is to have this feel like the best concert you have ever been to- when the crowd sings every word in unison, and the best meditative retreat , where you leave dreaming of what your life could look like if you were brave enough to keep growing.

This is The United State of US. I am equal parts excited and terrified. But I’ve got my best athleisure wear on and I’m ready to work. Let’s do this.
